What I want to capture

The ideal wedding photo that I would like to capture would be one that isn’t too intrusive on the environment but one that still portrays an original and creative photograph. I like to catch a mix of staged and natural photos to give you the ultimate enjoyment when you look back at the pictures in the years to come. I am the ideal person to be your Cambridge wedding photographer because I show that I care through my work and, I believe that, the end results are a good indicator of my abilities.

My process

For me, my process is crucial when taking photographs because it allows for your photos to represent the amazing memories of an amazing quality. I don’t tend to use big setups as I like to stay out of the way and not be too obtrusive on your special day or during your event. Since I started photography, I have always loved capturing emotionally charged photos because I believe that they create more of an impact in your mind and your heart. FAQ

You need more information on some aspects of my work, here are a few questions answered for you. For anything else, do not hesitate to contact me.

Are you insured?

I have a public liability insurance of up to £2M. And an employer liability insurance of up to £10M.

How do we book your services?

Once you have decided you would like me to be your wedding photographer, contact me and I will add your wedding day to my diary. You will be then asked to pay the £150 deposit by cash, cheque, credit card or bank transfer. Once I receive the deposit, I will book your date in my diary.

I will then send you an electronic contract for you to sign within one week via email. I shall then be in touch again within one or two weeks of your wedding to check the timings are right and to ask you to think of a group photos list.

Do we get a DVD of all our wedding images?

Yes and no.

I do not give DVDs to couples because most computers now do not have a DVD reader. Generally, I deliver my images either via USB Flash drive containing all of the high-resolution print-ready wedding images or an online gallery.

All photographs are shot in RAW format. Once post-processed, I convert them into JPEG format for inclusion on your online gallery in high resolution.

Do we get an online gallery of all our wedding images?

Yes.

With all my wedding packages, you will get an online gallery (with or without a password, you choose) which will contain all of your high-resolution print-ready wedding images for your friends and family to download/print from.

For the first time since we have been offering wedding photography services, the images from that gallery will be available to print nearly at cost (from £1.99) and high-resolution image downloads will be available for free.

How many pictures do you take?

The number of pictures taken depends on the size of the crowd, the number of hours you have booked me for and other variables like the weather.

Usually, for a 5 hours wedding, you would get about 350 pictures. Anyway, I can safely say I take more pictures than most of my direct competitors in Cambridge.

Will you own the copyright on our wedding pictures?

It is standard practice across the photographic industry and is a form of legal protection. As soon as a picture is taken, the photographer automatically owns the copyright. However, the fee I charge my clients implies that I transfer the copyright to them and that they will be able to use my images wherever they see fit unless stated otherwise.

All my wedding photography packages include an online gallery of images with full printing rights given to the client, and sometimes full download rights.

Do you offer an initial consultation for us to discuss our photography with you?

Yes.

As each wedding is unique, I generally meet my clients at The Architect pub (on Cambridge's Castle Hill) or at The Plough pub in Coton for a free, no obligation chat about your wedding day photography. I can meet you on any weekdays provided that I am free, either for late afternoon or early evening meetings. On Saturday, anytime from 3 pm is fine, provided that I am not shooting a wedding.

During this meeting, we will run through your plans for the day, show you sample albums if you want to see any, and answer any questions you may have.

Do you travel far & do you charge for travel?

I photograph weddings all over the United Kingdom and Europe. I travel for free inside Cambridgeshire and Newmarket.
For weddings further afield, I will charge travel expenses of 40p per mile. Also, if your wedding is taking place more than 100 miles away from Cambridge, I will probably spend the night before in a B&B nearby (£70 for the night plus £20 for a meal).

If you’re getting married in Europe, I charge a minimum £500 fee for travel and accommodation on top of my wedding photography coverage fee.

Praise

What my customers say

The aim for me is to make clients happy with amazing photos, hence why it means a lot to me when couples take the time to send me a thank-you card or leave wedding photography reviews. For some people, hiring a professional wedding photographer is a one-time experience, but I really enjoy that many of my couples follow me on social media or invite me to celebrate all their lives’ big moments!
